One is DC drive, and the corresponding buzzer is active buzzer. One is square wave drive, and the corresponding buzzer is passive buzzer.
It directly affects the sound pressure of the buzzer. For the same buzzer, the higher the driving voltage, the greater the sound pressure. However, the driving voltage cannot be higher than the limit voltage borne by the buzzer, which can generally be met within 30V.
The frequency of the buzzer is determined by the buzzer cavity and buzzer blade. Theoretically, any frequency can be achieved. However, in order to facilitate users and standardize products, the more common frequencies are 2KHz and 4kHz, which are the mainstream at present.
The buzzer pin distance directly affects the assembly of the buzzer on the PCB. If the buzzer pin distance does not match the PCB hole distance, it cannot be assembled and used. The common pin distances in the industry are: 5.0mm, 7.6mm, 10mm, 15mm. When designing PCB, it is necessary to design such common pin distances.
The cavity is divided into front cavity and rear cavity. The front cavity mainly affects the frequency of the product. The front cavity is the space between the buzzer and the pronunciation hole. The larger the space volume is, the lower the frequency is, and vice versa. Generally, the intuitive response is that the larger the volume of the buzzer, the lower the frequency, and the smaller the volume of the buzzer, the higher the frequency.
